This explains the cookies and similar storage Cringe uses. The short version is that we use as few as possible.
What these are
Cookies and local storage are small pieces of data your browser keeps for a site. Some are needed for the site to work. Others are optional.
What we use
We group what we use into two kinds:
- Strictly necessary: sign-in and session cookies that keep you logged in and keep the app working. These cannot be turned off.
- Preferences: a small record of your cookie choices, so we do not ask again until the policy changes.
Optional product analytics
Optional product analytics uses OpenPanel on infrastructure we operate ourselves. It counts page views and basic usage without setting analytics cookies, and without session replay or advertising. It stays off until you allow it in the cookie banner or the choices control below.
Error reports
When the app crashes we send a report to Bugsink on servers we operate. That is part of running the service, not optional analytics. We do not use it for advertising or session replay, and it does not set extra cookies.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site and third-party tracking to profile you.
